Arrows

I can do it all myself, she said it all the time
Ringing in my ears
Separating out the future from the past
Rearrange the years
We are the bows that send the living arrows flying overhead
So let your bended hand be true – the only chance you get
Why are you laughing when there's no one else around
I don't know what to say
Staring through the pages while you're checking every box
You want to fly away
Letting go and hanging on almost feel the same
(*some lines inspired by The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran)

Wide Awake

Sure enough
It was right there where we left it along
A picture that's still hanging upside down
You and I
Barely keep from pointing at the sky
You said every star's a promise to tonight
It shouldn't be this hard
To turn everything off
I swear there's something moving across the floor
Counting down the clock
An hour to be brave
It's 3:39 and i'm wide awake
Wide awake
I recall
An icy glaze on the windows up at dawn
Warming up the car never took so long
We were off
Learning landmark phrases everyone should know
Leave a light on when you're feeling all alone

Disappear

There's a time and place just not for everyone
A silhouette a mile wide
You hate that story about the weather
The same old news, one more time
It's alright
If no one hears
Close your eyes and watch this disappear
A daylight moon won't fool anyone
Mom and dad, they're getting old
Something here I never recognize
They want you want to leave more than you want to go
You could walk the length
And still lose your way
Just don't look back
Give yourself another chance
It's alright
If no one hears
Close your eyes and watch this disappear

Miracleworker New Jersey
The band started as an experiment in late bloomer acoustic guitar songwriting. New Brunswick punk icon Chris Ross saw a path to making a 'real band,' and soon enough East Coast hardcore vet Dan Cav joined in on the fun.
